All timber used by FRAMELINK and most other frame suppliers come from Plantations. That is, timber specifically grown for construction, not taken from our natural forests.
As a tree grows it sucks carbon from the atmosphere and stores it in its trunk and the soil … forever!
As we continually harvest the plantations, we are sucking more and more carbon from the atmosphere, which means the more we use timber the more carbon we draw from the atmosphere.
Conversely, other structural materials such as concrete and steel generate carbon.
Using timber on your building project wherever possible is your way to help mitigate the process of climate change and interestingly the timber used in the average house would re-grow in less than a minute from Australian Softwood Plantations.
